Eh. I tend not to like the Prowl episodes, because I'm jaded about pseudo-eastern & ninja story-themes. So this episode mildly irritated me throughout, and I could care less about Master Yoketron (or whatever the name was), which kind of defeated most of the pathos for me. However, it's good to see Prowl finally get his flashback, since that was sorely overdue, and Lockdown's usually good story-fodder. I like Jazz's take on the ninja cliche better though; pity he and Prowl can't switch places. I've realised that I dislike a lot of Prowl's dialogue... it just never feels true to me. I know it's part of his character, but his lines are a little too overwritten.

We've got a whole bunch of Decepticons captured now (nice to get Swindle back), so I wonder whether that's building up to something or (more cynically) whether they'll all be freed in the next couple of episodes as a plot convenience.

I confess to being a little surprised that they returned to Waspinator. I kind of assumed that he'd be left as Decepticon on the loose, and not returned to this season. Yes, it'd be a shame to not have him progress from Wasp to Waspinator, but I figured he'd be one of the loose threads if the show does end at 3 seasons. It actually took me an embarrassing amount of time to realise the significance of the title. At first I was thinking: "Predacons? They haven't finished with the Constructicons yet!" I eventually twigged that they meant the other kind of Predacon....

As well as a return to Waspinator, it's nice to see Blackarachnia again--and very nice to see Sentinel finally let into that little plot point. At first I thought this wasn't going to work, as the initial scene of confrontation between BA and Sentinel kept the latter cast firmly in buffoon mode, and that jarred with the pathos of the moment. However, the second scene hit the right tone with Sentinel still pompous and closed-minded, but now a conflicted and sympathetic character. I wish we had more of this kind of Sentinel, to be honest, as the caricatured jerk got old after about five minutes.

The BA plot meant that Waspinator got sidelined in his own origin story, but somehow this is appropriate for Waspinator. The character has shifted a lot closer to his Beast Wars namesake as far as my sympathy goes. There are few things more pitiful than the scene where BA convinces him to be part of her experiment (I loved BA throughout this scene, btw "Science marches on!"). He's a lot beefier than in Beast Wars, but he's back to being the lovable underdog. And he still has plans!!

BTW, did anybody else find the dialogue really hard to hear? I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed that the extra effect noises were too loud and the dialogue too quiet--I missed an awful lot of lines, and found it very difficult to pick out anything Waspinator was saying.
