(What Would Jazz Do) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Spoiler [+] Okay, maybe I liked this episode because Animated David Kaye was just adorable as was Animated Bumper Robinson. I didn't find it all that special, had the human aspect spoiled for me unintentionally earlier in the week. Figured out the dream pretty early on, found the Christmas stuff offputting. Yet...I enjoyed it. I'll have to wait and see if the ending holds up and the story doesn't collapse. Next week is TFCon. Will there be a hotel room viewing of the episode before the con begins? I'll certainly be watching it. Goes to look at the YTV schedule. Aaaand it appears to not be on next week. Huh. But is it on CN? Find out tomorrow. Last Edited By: MommimusPrime 04/18/2009 14:07:13. I've just been watching it on YouTube. Spoiler [+] TFs-as-humans is my guilty pleasure, so I'm always curious to see how others handle the concept. This was ... well, it was better than the average TFH fanfic but wasn't anything groundbreaking. Most of the yay comes from them looking like their VAs ( some more than others, ) turning into The Adventures of David Kaye and his Amazing Friends. I do like that they were figuring stuff out on their own instead of having Sari teach them, as well as liking that they at least tried to reach her first. Bet you wish you had command codes, eh, Bulkhead? However, it's all worth it for Sumdac dancing. Cannibal Predacon is cannibal.

Actually, considering the humans they know best are of Asian (or Indo-American, I think it's called) descent, it would have been kind of cool to see the Autobots automatically adopt that ethnicity for their own. Choo chi chi kchoo choo choo! Bulkhead: It sounds silly, but... Choo chi chi kchoo choo choo! I didn't like Bulkhead and Prowl's human designs, Prowl's mustache was weird, and I couldn't imagine Bulkhead as a blonde. I agree that a variety of ethnic backgrounds would have nice. Also, seeing Bumblebee spin Blitzwing's head...face....things around was quite funny.

Bennet at least has a long, thin face, but Prowl was pretty much automatically going to go with his hologram's look. A variety of colours would have been nice, but given the formula they were using ( going with the VAs ) this didn't bother me as much as it usually does. And, much as I love the TFH genre, I'm wondering why they did it. If Soundwave's trying to reprogram the crew into Decepticons, wouldn't doing a simulation more like Shattered Glass be more appropriate? Was it just a test run to see if he could convince them to think they were something other than themselves and he thought human was a smaller jump than Decepticons? Cannibal Predacon is cannibal.

He's got them completely at his mercy. They're really a pain in the aft in any case. If I were him, I'd just deactivate them. Sari can't do anything to him at the moment. It just seems like a waste of time to me, but then there'd be no story so I guess getting a TFH story is a small price to pay.

Then again, maybe the sim just included some kind of Cybertronian exchange equivalent... or the whole thing was skipped over as being plot-irrelevant, potentially tricky to navigate through, and because TV pretty much never shows money being used unless it's relevant to the narrative.

And I am vaguely twitchy about it. Spoiler [+] It's a kid's cartoon. I do expect a certain level of cheesiness, really I do. I just... can't get past Soundwave and Optimus Prime duelling with guitars. C'mon! Also, the substitute Autobots were very random. Scrapper? Really? I was amused by castaway Scrapper, and I could buy into him doing it for the promise of oil--but I can't buy into him not coming up with the idea of making a boat on his own or for being browbeaten by a midget (which is what Sari is to them) into going along with the plan instead of bailing. Apparently, I can buy into Snarl as a pet. It's ridiculous, but it's cute. And the line teasing the Slag-Snarl change was brilliant. Wreck-Gar annoyed me last time around, and he does again here. Eh... I can live with him once a series. This episode was a bit of a round-up of loose end characters though. Wasp & BA were left out, and the other two Constructicons didn't appear, but I think everybody else on Earth did? I was starting to get more tolerant of Prowl up until he started this whole Processor over Matter malarkey. Dear god, it's the new Allspark key. It solves everything! Oddly enough (but perhaps unsurprisingly), the human-TF concept was largely irrelevant to the plot and continual references to that theme felt a bit shoehorned in. I did like that they didn't know how to drive (unlike their G1 counterparts where Arcee had no problems with a motorcycle and Springer was readily able to manually operate himself), but there wasn't any actual need to have them be human, and it does feel as if it would have been better spun off into a separate story. Well, I'm not waiting for you, so nyah! Next episode! Spoiler [+] I don't usually like Michael Ryan episodes, but this one seemed to stand up better.... I wouldn't say it grabbed me, in fact I kept tuning out, but that's more likely my own crappy attention span than the writing. There were some nice moments (Optimus crawling along and grumbling about rescuing everybody), and the one moment that did make me groan was due to execution rather than writing: Optimus remaining motionless and looking quite relaxed as the explosion from the energon cubes hurtled towards him. It was great seeing Swindle again. Loved the references to Quintessa and Nebulos too (particularly Quintessa... there's something rather appropriate about Swindle getting along with Quintessons). Finally, the scene of the crowds cheering at the end was great... I actually paused to try and figure out all the cameos (I'm ruddy useless at the more obscure characters, but Tracks! Cosmos!). They showed the episode at TFCon so we've seen it. Spoiler [+] Okay, I admit I yelled at the tv when Optimus just stood there. "Move you stupid idiot!" I think is what I said. And I really need to rewatch the episode because I kept getting interrupted and do things like freeze the action and look at all of those cameos. And Sentinel is still an aft, no worse, he's totally treasonous. I expected Jazz to finally up and mutiny and was really disappointed when he didn't. Why are they following him?

You make a good point about Sentinel, Mommimus. I'm a bit bemused by how the chain of command works in the Elite Guard (and Cybertron in general). Considering the general view all Autobots we've seen have towards Sentinel, why was he next in line? Aren't there more Primes? Optimus is out of the guard, and I suppose Rodimus has been cosmic rusted, but I assumed it wasn't that exclusive a rank (since Sentinel achieved it in the first place!). And is Sentinel now Sentinel Magnus? Or is he viewed as more of an interim leader until Ultra Magnus 'gets better'? I suppose ultimately jerks do ascend to positions of authority (frequently by using promotion as a way of getting them out of the job they're currently screwing up), but it seems a bit strange that somebody so universally scorned is an unquestioned leader at such an important time.
