I really don't like it. I find Stan's voice has gotten reedy with age and that the 80s lyrics sound preachy in the 21st century.
But that's just me. I posted a complein on my LJ and there were a couple of people who liked it. My mom thinks it's catchy ... Personally, I think I'd change stations if it came on the radio.

Sorry, but I have to agree with the majority, first version was SO much better. I don't like the chorus and I most certainly don't like the slower pace of the song. |

I find this rendition particularly interesting.
I like the song a lot, except for the very underwhelming rapping. The rap portions are both poorly written, lyrically, and mediocrely rapped by the rather old seeming and sounding rap guy. However, I do enjoy the method in which Stan sings the song over the new music. It certainly doesn't have the same nostalgia or love of the original, but I think it is a fair attempt at modernization. |
