How ever TFcon I can do. Worse comes to worse I can drive the 8 hrs+, that is if I can't convince Dad to use the Cessna to fly me up.
Anyone else going to need a hotel room and want to cut the cost?

Unfortunately it looks like I'm joining the can't make Botcon. Flying to California just isn't in the budget right now.

I dunno, I might actually be able to stay with a friend.
But that's if I can go at all, still need to wait till test dates get announced. |

*climbs out from under her rock* I might be able to make it. Maybe. I think it'll depend on the work situation and the overall costs.
I just want to know why May? I mean, they were implying that they'd set Botcon around the movie's release date, so what changed?

Screening of selected portions of the film seems more likely.

Well it's only like 200 for me to fly out and I've always wanted to visit LA so I'm gonna do my damndest to make it! Gaaaah too many things I want
to do this year. Obviously I need a better paying job but what job is gonna be as cool about letting me take off time like my job? *flail*

Gooooo to TF Con. Toronto is better. The volunteers at TF Con are waaaaaay cuter. TF Con is more fun. GOOOO TO TF CON. *Snaps fingers*

Won't be able to make it to Botcon this year. Trying to make it to TFCon. My father in law lives in Toronto, so that eliminates one expense for me. Just
trying to figure out how to get from his house to TFCon. I don't drive and don't really want to have him chauffer me around.
Could any of the Toronto Cellmates tell me what public transit goes to the hotel where TFCon is being held? I'll take a cab if I have to, but would prefer a cheaper solution.

Doubletree International
Plaza Hotel and a Google map of the area.
The 58 Malton bus runs along Dixon road, though I don't know what the closest stop to the hotel is... I know there's a bus that stops right out front of the hotel/convention centre, but I don't know which it is. I can get back to you at it, though.

Thanks. I was looking at the bus maps for Toronto last night and my eyes started crossing. Winnipeg is SO much simpler.

Yeah, the TTC is easily the worst subway system out of any in Canada, if not North America/the world.
I just checked the Toronto Congress Centre site map, and the 58 Malton bus does stop right outside the Convention Centre/Hotel. So that one's your best bet.

Anyone going to TFcon or Botcon, who would be willing to split the cost of a room?

Pasadena is very nice . . . unfortunately, I will not be able to drive that far . . . not unless a whole bunch of people I know can carpool together . . . but
it's best to say I won't be in attendance this year.
Bit of a bummer, too. Pasadena really is nice.
