That's boring. I'm glad they didn't do that. Now to find the toys the next time I'm in a store . . .

I loved it.
Actually, if it weren't for RotF, I wouldn't be getting into Transformers fandom now. My boyfriend isn't what you'd call a fanboy, but he liked the first movie and wanted to see the second, so we went together. I rather thought that I'd be bored silly throughout. I mean, really, I never thought I'd go in for the giant robot alien thing. I have never been more wrong in my life. I loved it. To pieces. Maybe I'm a little biased, because I tend to like movies with lots of gunfire and explosions, but I thought it was awesome. I loved the characters, I loved the humor, I loved the action. I realize there were holes in the plot and some general stupidity, but I'm not really bothered by that. I could follow it, and I could (and did!) enjoy it immensely. In fact, I enjoyed it enough that I spent the next day scouring every Target and Walmart in the city until I found a copy of the first movie. XD Summer flick though it is, I think there will always be a special place in my heart for Revenge of the Fallen. After all, it is what introduced me to Transformers, and I have the sneaking suspicion that I'm not going to be losing interest any time soon. |

I meant it was boring about the Arcee "triplets" having something akin to a hive mind. That's boring. It's been done, and, if a person wants to get really, really, REALLY technical about it . . . all of the Transformers have a "hive" mind in these movies. Sensing when the others are mobilizing? Isn't that similar to a hive mindset?

So now that I've had a good amount of time to gather my nerdiness of RotF, have to say, it was good. In a general entertainment way, (unless you've sat
fifthteen feet from the speakers which were fuzzing from the loudness >.<) I wasn't impressed much with the Arcee triplets much, and to me the
overall 'feel' was too many characters without anything other than standing room. Not that they all have to speak, it just most seemed like they could
have been utilized more. The 'dead' coming back unexplainably was a stretch for me too.
In a general entertainment way it was a good movie, as I stated above. 'Is it a bad thing when you look at your friends and all you see are easy targets?" ~Villingur |

Heh - I loved it, warts and all. Too bad I had to watch it with a really drunk guy sitting two seats over from me. I swear he would not shut up throughtout
the whole darn movie...

Lucky for me, he was a few rows away. >_> Also, I agree with MidNight Blue. Upon watching it again, it does seem a little like they tried to cram in too many extra characters. They didn't really have the time to even give some of them an introduction. It was almost like they just said "Oooh, we need this guy, and this guy, and the fans LOVE that one..." |

Winnie -
It must be a new thing: get really hammered, go to a movie, and ruin the experience for everyone. Either that or these two morons were trying out for MST3K The New Series, if there were such a thing... I live in a Western podunk town. There isn't much to do here except drink and go to movies. Some people combine the two. I really liked what they did with Sideswipe. I wish we could have seen more of him and Bumblebee. |

Dogcatcher2009 wrote:Actually, getting drunk and going to the movies isn't anything new. My dad went to see Star Wars on the day I was born (after I was born, of course), and some drunk guy was sitting in the front row. I guess his reaction was quite amusing, especially when the first Star Destroyer came onto the screen. ^_^ As for the Arcee triplets . . . gee, I wonder why they went with Arcee for the Femmebot rather than Elita-1 . . .

"Damn, I'm good." XD Yes, I think I'd have liked to see more of him. And, of course, more Bumblebee is always a good thing. He's just too adorable for words. X3 Also, @lianabluestar: What're you getting at about Arcee versus Elita-1? /noobquestion I only have a vauge idea of who Elita-1 is as well, but I think I would have liked to see her in the movie. |

Elita-1 was the leader of the female Autobots in the G1 cartoon. She was okay but I always felt that Arcee was a better character. I was glad to see her in
the film.

What Dogcatcher2009 said. The thing is, if you want to get very technical about the Femmebot equation of the fandom, both Arcee and Elita-1 play very pivotal
roles (in that everyone wrotes mostly about them than the other Femmes - Elita because she's Prime's girlfriend, Arcee because she had more airtime). I
simply find it ironic that, though Elita was one of the first to be introduced to the G1 canon, they chose Arcee instead. ^_^

Obviously, no one wanted to deal with the horror of trying to fit both Sam/Mikaela and Optimus/Elita into the movie. They had enough plot problems as it is. XD

They are making a third movie aren't they for release in 2011?
As for this one - it could have been worse but it also could have been a lot better. Not a patch on the forst one for plot, characterisation and impact. It's great reading eveybody's comments. here's my dollarsworth:

Actually, a rouge Deception in the masses crashing to earth grabbed Sam's parents from Paris to bait Sam with when they got to Egypt. (whoo.. I figured
out that much in this film!)
Quallevra wrote:Ah.. yeah. *ponders* Was that shard then completed depensed when it woke up Jetfire.. or did it still exist after? *then wonders what good is the Allspark shard now that the Matrix suddenly held even more importance in this movie.. aside from being used to blow up the sun* ...is it me, or did anyone else actually wanted to see that sun-gun get activated... only to have it melt into molten goo (like the one in the G1 ep, FotM) ...? Cause if Jetfire was all but a shamble... how do they expect that weapon to still be fully operational after all these years?

It does sort of cover all the bases, doesn't it?
I thought ROTF was unutterable dreck from beginning to end with only a few shining moments of glory (such as any time Jetfire was on screen). None of the new characters (human or robot) bar Jetfire served any plot purpose or was in any way likeable. No, that's not fair- I actually liked the Fallen because he was so ludicrously over-the-top and cheesy, but they could have given his entire role to Megatron without even changing the name of the film. Ah well. It probably doesn't help that I saw G.I. Joe last night, and the whole thing was basically a 'how-to' guide for turning a kooky children's property into a highly entertaining slam-bang action movie with good humour and subtle fanservice and withOUT giant, swinging robot testicles. I wonder if Steven Sommers is doing anything in 2011... -Nick
