So, according to Seibertron and the various eBay auctions I've seen spring up from Canadian sellers, the Chevy Aveo "Swerve" figure that was previously exclusive to China, is available in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area, for those not in the know) for a spread of time and, well, it looks to be entirely free. These are the details copy-pasted from Seibertron (read it in context here: Aveo Article) We have stops throughout the GTA, and as far as I know, there are enough Aveo swerves for all of you in Toronto to get one. Our schedule is: June 25-28 Fairview Mall July 2-5 Sherway Gardens July 9-12 Bramalea City Centre July 16-19 Fairview Mall (again) July 30-Aug 2 Eaton Centre We are open mall hours at each venue. I am, insanely unfortunately, not living in the GTA or able to roadtrip there any time soon (work and all that). If anybody here has the opportunity to possibly help me out in picking one of these up for me (cuz, dammit, I've wanted one since I first saw them hit the net) I would be totally up for compensation. I think you have to sign up for a contest to get the Swerve toy, but what's the harm in that. Heck, enter false info if you are concerned (or my info, lol). I hope anyone here who can get one, will. The only one I could get to is the Eaton Centre one, though - the rest are boondocks. Remind me closer to the date or I'll forget, then I'll go down and see what I can do. If I can get some more bodies to come down with me, I might be able to pick up a few extras. Maybe. The Swerves aren't on display - you have to ask the booth guys about them. You have to fill out a contest form, but it doesn't seem to notice if you lie your way through it ( well, it wanted to know what kind of car I planned to buy next and I can't drive. ) Anyway, I nabbed me a Swerve. Or, more accurately, I nabbed Nuke one. Cannibal Predacon is cannibal.

We're going to be up north for a wedding this weekend, leaving Saturday morning, so my only option is to get downtown Toronto tomorrow. My mother won't drive in Toronto, so I'm going to have to see if I can get Dad to take me downtown, because there's no way in hell I'll be allowed to go roaming around downtown by myself. Of course, my father is conveniently out for the evening, and, stupid me, I totally forgot that this weekend was the last date to get one of those Swerves. I might, maybe (and that's a huge maybe) be able to get my skating partner to come downtown with me. We'll see. ARGH. Thanks so much for the info, though. If I do go downtown, it'll be great to know where the heck I'm going instead of wandering around the Eaton center like an idiot. EDIT: Doesn't look like I'm going to get a chance to go. Figures that of the few weekends I'm actually busy this summer, they all seem to coincide with the give-away dates. Sarcasm is intellect on the offensive, wit is cultured insolence. I enjoy both.
