This piece of artwork became the two-page splash that introduced the Autobots in Marvel's "The Transformers" issue 1 in June 1984. It's the first commercially available images of most of the characters (apart from the toy boxart) and, as you can see, a lot of the animation models hadn't been finished by the time this went to print. Also, poor Windcharger didn't make it in and had to be added before they went to the printers.
